Okay, so I'm a Prince fanatic, and this is a great aftershow. However, Prince's aftershows have lost their luster for me because his main (concert) shows are becoming increasingly more like his aftershows. Let me explain. The best part about the aftershow is that Prince is, of course, more laid back, usually playing the songs that he loved as a kid, lots of James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, Larry Graham, Curtis Mayfield, etc. And this is great because of Prince's musicianship as well as just hearing great songs played by a great musician. Yet, this becomes not so special once he begins playing these same songs during the main show (concert). Over the past ten years Prince has stopped playing his newer songs during the main (concert) how and plays the hits with increasingly more covers. I don't mind the hits, but when I pay for a concert I want to hear Prince songs, not covers! Now, of course, it's a money thing. As Prince once said, as early as 1990, "Nobody wants to pay money to hear songs they don't know." I disagree if the songs are well-crafted. But, it is clear that Prince has decided to contour is main shows (concerts) for the casual fan, those People who don't even know that Prince has released an album after 1989. So, usually, when I experience an aftershow like the one you posted or get one as a bootleg, I'm excited. But now I find myself more like, "Meh..." Maybe it's a sign of age, and, if so, it was a great run. But, in honestly, fuck all these covers; I wanna hear "Colonized Mind" and more new stuff!

Finally, as for Andy Allo, well, Prince fans know that enduring a new album by his latest sex kitten is just a part of being a Prince fan. But, from the few excerpts that I’ve heard, her album will at least be better than Vanity and Apollonia. Of course, she’s no Shelia E!
