Contest Submissions
September 1 - November 30, 2011

Prizes (Each Genre)
    First Place - $200
    Second Place - $100
    First, Second and Honorable Mention winners will be
       published
    All submissions will be considered for publication
    All authors whose work is published in Bacopa will receive
       one free copy of the 2012 Bacopa Literary Review
    All submissions will be judged blind.

Notification
    First, Second and Honorable Mention winners will be notified
       via email.
    Winners will be posted on the WAG web site.

Eligibility
    Manuscripts in English and unpublished at the time of
       submission. (If your submission is accepted elsewhere,
       please notify the contesteditor@writersalliance.org">Bacopa Contest Editor.)
    No limit to the number of submissions from one person in any
       category.
    WAG membership is not required.
    For accepted manuscripts, WAG acquires first serial rights;
       upon publication, rights revert to the author. WAG requests
       that the Bacopa Literary Review be credited as original
       publisher for subsequent publications.

Manuscript Format
Fiction and Nonfiction/Creative Nonfiction
    Fiction word limit: 1,000-3,300 words
    Nonfiction/Creative Nonfiction: maximum 3,300 words
    Double-spaced
    One-inch margins, all sides; 0.5-inch paragraph indent; left
       justified
    12-point type in Times New Roman or Arial
    Cover Page: name, address, email, phone, manuscript title,
       word count and a brief (50 or fewer words) bio
    Page 1: Title/Page Number upper right with word count
        under title/page number
    Submit the file in .doc or .rtf only
    NOTE: Author's name appears only on the cover page and
       must not appear on the manuscript
Short Fiction
    Word limit: up to 1,000 words
    Double-spaced
    One-inch margins, all sides; 0.5-inch paragraph indent; left
       justified
    12-point type in Times New Roman or Arial
    Cover Page: name, address, email, phone, manuscript title,
       word count and a brief (50 or fewer words) bio
    Page 1: Title/Page Number upper right with word count

Poetry
    Up to 30 lines per poem
    Up to three poems per submission
    Poems need not be double-spaced

       count(s) for each poem and a brief (50 or fewer words) bio
    Submit the file in .doc or .rtf only
    NOTE: Author's name appears only on the cover page and
       must not appear on the manuscripts

Method of Transmission - Submishmash
    Only submisions following the above guidelines will be
       considered.
    Authors whose work is accepted for publication will be
       notified via Submishmash and will receive one free copy
       of the 2012 Bacopa Literary Review.

Entry Fees
    Entry Fees are required on the submission site at time of
       submission.
    Writers Alliance of Gainesville (WAG) members in good
       standing, your first submission is FREE.
       Members also receive a free copy of each annual Bacopa
       Literary Review.
    WAG Members: Additional submissions are $11 each.
    All Others: $11 per submission.
