2013 Bacopa Literary Review

Contest Submissions

Prizes (Each Genre)
    First Place - $250
    Second Place - $100
    Third Place - $50
    First, Second and Third Place prize winners will be published
    All contest submissions will be considered for publication
    All authors whose work is published in Bacopa will receive
       one free copy of the 2013 Bacopa Literary Review
    All contest submissions will be judged blind.

Notification
    First, Second and Third Place winners will be notified via email.
    Winners will be posted on the WAG web site.
    Notifications to authors (accepted/not accepted for publication)
       will be sent via email.

Eligibility
    Manuscripts in English and unpublished. If your submission is accepted
       elsewhere, please notify the Bacopa Editor-In-Chief.
    No limit to the number of submissions from one person in any
       category.
    WAG membership is encouraged, but not required.
    For accepted manuscripts, WAG acquires first serial rights;
       upon publication, rights revert to the author. WAG requests
       that the Bacopa Literary Review be credited as original
       publisher for subsequent publications.

Manuscript Format
    Double-spaced
    One-inch margins, all sides; 0.5-inch paragraph indent; left justified
    12-point type in Times New Roman or Arial

Cover Page
    Name, mailing address, email, phone, title, word count and a brief
       (50 words) bio
    Title/Page Number upper right with word count under title/page number
    Submit the file in .doc or .rtf only

Important Note
    Author's name should appear ONLY on the COVER PAGE and must not
       appear on the manuscript page(s). Please make certain you remove
       your name from any runing headlines/footers on the manuscript page(s).
       Contest Submissions received with author name ANYWHERE except
       on the cover page will be rejected.

Fiction and Creative Nonfiction
    Fiction word limit: 1,000-3,300 words
Short Fiction
    Word limit: up to 1,000 words
Poetry
    Up to 40 lines per poem
    Up to three poems per submission
    Poems need not be double-spaced

Entry Fees
    Entry Fees are required on the submission site at time of
       submission.
    $11 per Contest submission.
    First submission is FREE for Writers Alliance of Gainesville (WAG)
       members in good standing, but additional Contest submissions are
       $11 each. WAG members also receive a free copy of the annual
       Bacopa Literary Review.
    WAG Members: Additional submissions are $11 each.
    All Others: $11 per submission.
