Call for Entries:
FEMRITE Writing Competition
(UGX 500,000 top prize | Uganda)

As Uganda celebrates 50 years of independence, FEMRITE Uganda Women Writers Association and the readers writers club are calling upon Ugandans (women and men) to channel their version of the celebrations through an original creative piece of writing.
Your submission should reflect or recreate your understanding/insight/experience of Uganda through the years of independence (to date) or even before.
The theme around which to craft your piece is My Uganda @ 50. The subject matter is open but word limit is between 1,000 to 2,000 words.
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 500,000UGX and an autographed copy of the celebrated Caine Prize for African writing anthology 2012, African Violet
The deadline for submission is midnight Monday 15th October 2012.
The winning entry will be published in WORDRITE and other e-journals and on the FEMRITE website.
E-mail your submission and state the subject line as My Uganda @ 50. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
