Playwrights’ Revolution
The goal of the Playwrights' Revolution is to celebrate new works and to encourage the creation of bold, powerful new plays for the American theatre. Each year, several new plays will be selected to participate in a series of roundtable and staged readings. In July of 2009, Capital Stage presented its first Playwrights' Revolution World Premiere production.
Submission Guidelines
Capital Stage is particularly interested in plays that fulfill our mission to bring bold, thought-provoking work to the region. Plays must be full-length in any genre: comedy, drama, musical, etc. Translations, collections of one-acts, children's plays and any play that has received a full-scale, professional production prior to submission are not eligible. Plays that have had a workshop, reading or non-professional production are still eligible. Only one submission per playwright is allowed each year. Playwrights in the Northern California region are encouraged to participate.

Cast size must be no larger than eight (8). Sorry, no exceptions.
Capital Stage is particularly interested in supporting the development of plays that explore the female voice.2011 Submission Process
