Guidelines for the 2012 Festival

Our commitment to find and produce excellent ten-minute plays by women playwrights has resulted in some changes in our submission process to the Six Women Playwriting Festival. Please read the following policies carefully before submitting your play.

The Six Women Playwriting Festival 2012 will be held:
April 12-15, 2012
April 19-22, 2012
April 26-29, 2012

 

The theme of this year’s festival is TRANSFORMATIONS.

 

Beginning with the next contest (Deadline: Friday, September 30, 2011), submissions will be limited to the first 250 scripts we receive.

 

Writers whose plays are selected for production will be notified by February 15, 2012.

 

Each playwright may submit only one script—send us your best work!

 

We are unable to accept electronic submissions.

 

No scripts will be returned.

 

Each script must be no more than ten pages long.

 

Previously submitted plays are not accepted and will not be returned nor receive a response.

 

Each manuscript must be typed and individually bound or stapled.

 

Title page must include the playwright’s name, address, phone number, e- mail address and a sixty-word bio.

 

An honorarium of $100 will be awarded for each of the six winning plays.

 

Please Note:
This year, one play will be work shopped by the MAT actors and director. The playwright, whose play is selected, will receive travel costs to Colorado for this workshop opportunity in addition to her $100 honorarium for the weekend of April 12-15.
