In the feminist drama “Cairo 678,” three women in modern Cairo who have suffered sexual harassment decide to take matters into their own hands. The film is the directorial debut of the Egyptian screenwriter Mohamed Diab. In this video, the director speaks about how he sees his film as a reflection of some of the injustices prevalent in Egypt before the revolution that overthrewHosni Mubarak’s government. He also discusses why he felt this film about the struggles of Egyptian women needed to be directed by a man.
