In this clip for lead-single “Phupa Lam” Bongeziwe delivers a Mbaqanga and dub-influenced acoustic serenade from the streets of Johannesburg. It all plays like a neatly sculpted roots pop tune ’til the guitar tracks drop, Zulu Boy pops in, and the underlying beat and synths reveal themselves to be prime spitting material.
