Jazz is my religion', Ted Joan's, we miss you dear brother, griot, when there was no Amiri Baraka i,e Leroy Jones we had Ted Joan's, one of the original beat poets and this brother was going to Africa when it was almost a mission impossible for black forks to leave America...I wrote to him back when he was living in Paris and I tried to line up a gig with him through North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C...for whatever reason the University Officals were not interested...he even sent me a CD by the same name called " Jazz is my Religion", this post brought back fond memories of one of the most radical poets of this century...let's just say he was the George Padmore of Pan African Poetry....the people's poet
