VIDEO: “Shoe Shine Boy” (Short Shots) > from Shadow And Act

Watch “Shoe Shine Boy” (Short Shots)

By Tambay, on April 25th, 2010

This 15-minute 1943 MGM short is the story of a shoe shine boy (Melvin Bryant), trying desperately to earn money in order to purchase a trumpet for his first day in the U.S. Army. It’s very much a film of its time… for better or for worse.
