Charla Harlow is a director, producer, photographer and creator of Harlow Project. Harlow Project is a production company and site dedicated to celebrating and telling the stories of women and people of color. Harlow Project's mission is to produce projects that create a community of consciousness. When not working on her own projects she’s a camera operator for shows like ABC’s “What Would You Do?”
Her most recent project in(HER)view: a conversation with Black women premiered on harlowproject.com on May 7th, 2012. The bi-weekly series asks five black women the same eight questions about their lived experiences- from what they love about being a black woman to the challenges they face.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and a Master's degree in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
The Syracuse native is currently based in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y.
